π«π· What is HKDSE French?
Hong Kong secondary students can take French as one of the elective subjects for their education. HKDSE French is a recognized examination accepted by both universities and employers as proof of linguistic ability and understanding. Several Hong Kong secondary schools offer curriculum specifically tailored to HKDSE French.
The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority uses question papers from the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level provided by the Cambridge Assessment International Education. All marking and grading are conducted by Cambridge International. The AS-level is typically a one-year course that students complete before entering universities worldwide, including institutions in the UK, US, European nations, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
π Important Prerequisite
To start the AS-level French course, students are recommended to have previously completed I/GCSE French assessment/course or equivalent. Students normally should have learned French for approximately 4 to 5 years before taking the HKDSE French examination.
