The Beginners Programme covers 6 core topic areas across 12 discovery sessions, then brings them together in 2 final review weeks — great as a standalone option too.
Week by Week
Each week brings a brand-new theme — two focused sessions per week that build vocabulary, pronunciation, and real confidence step by step.
The adventure begins! Through phonics games and guided writing, children discover the unique sounds of French letters A to M — the rock-solid foundation for everything ahead.
From N to Z — plus the beautiful French accents! Children master the full alphabet and learn to recognise and pronounce the special characters (é, è, ç) that make French truly unique.
Counting in French made joyful! Songs, games, and hands-on activities help children say, recognise, and write numbers 1 to 10 — a skill woven into every session from here on.
The number adventure continues! Children expand their counting confidence all the way to 20, discovering fun patterns in French number vocabulary through lively summer challenges.
Bonjour, monde! Children learn to greet, say goodbye, and use polite French expressions with ease. This session builds real social confidence from day one, making French feel natural and exciting.
Their first real French conversation! Children learn to introduce themselves, ask for someone's name, and respond — essential social skills that make them feel genuinely proud in French.
The world turns colourful in French! Children discover primary colours and begin describing the world around them — a rich, creative foundation for descriptive language skills.
Mixing, matching, and creating! Secondary colours come alive through hands-on activities. Children expand their vocabulary and start forming simple, descriptive French phrases.
Welcome to the French classroom! Children learn vocabulary for everyday school objects — pen, book, chair, table, and more — turning their own learning space into a French-speaking world.
Time to move and do! Children pick up essential action verbs and classroom instructions, empowering them to participate fully and confidently in French from this point forward.
Children learn family vocabulary — maman, papa, brother, sister, grandparents — and start introducing the people closest to them in simple French sentences.
Physical descriptions and personality adjectives! Children describe family and friends in French, building natural spoken expression.
All six topics connected! Through games and dialogues, children consolidate vocabulary from weeks 1–6 into solid, lasting knowledge.
Bringing it all together in short conversations and interactive exercises that show just how far they've come.
Connecting the dots! Through role-play and short conversations, children learn to weave together all six topics — a creative, expressive session that marks a genuine leap in French confidence.
Dedicated to pronunciation refinement and an open Ask the Teacher session. Children leave with clearer sounds, more confidence, and a genuine sense of progress.
