French Tutoring for Hong Kong International School (HKIS) Students
Hong Kong International School students deserve support that genuinely understands their school — its American curriculum and the French pathway that runs through it.
Our tutors know the HKIS French pathway inside out — from Middle School French (Grades 6–8) to AP French Language and Culture in the High School (Grades 9–12). We help with class work, school assessments, the May AP exams, and optional DELF certification.
We Know the Hong Kong International School French Programme
HKIS runs an American curriculum, with French offered as a world language from Middle School through High School. We support students at every stage of that journey.
Middle School French (Grades 6–8)
The foundation years at the Tai Tam campus: core grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and the first real conversations. We make sure your child keeps pace with class work and school assessments.
High School French & AP (Grades 9–12)
From advanced French through to AP French Language and Culture: we prepare students for the May AP exams while supporting school tests, oral tasks and written assessments.

We know HKIS — here's what that means for your child:
Tai Tam & Repulse Bay campuses
Middle and High School in Tai Tam, Primary in Repulse Bay. Our Wan Chai centre is a short drive from Tai Tam — and online lessons are always an option.
American curriculum, AP pathway
French runs as a world language up to AP French Language and Culture — we align to that pathway, not to another school's syllabus.
Est. 1966
One of Asia's leading international schools — we've been tutoring HKIS families since 2011.
May AP exams
We plan backwards from the exam date so the speaking and writing components get enough rehearsal time.
2,800+ students
Large cohorts move fast — we give your child the one-on-one attention a school of this size can't always provide.
DELF as external proof
An American curriculum has no public French exam — DELF gives your child internationally recognised proof of level.
Why Hong Kong International School Families Choose Us
Tutors Who Know HKIS
Tutors who understand how HKIS grades, what its oral tasks expect, and how fast the course moves.
Aligned with the Class
Every lesson follows what your child is actually doing in class — not a generic course bolted on the side.
Grammar Explained in English
HKIS teaches in English — so we explain tricky French grammar in English, then move straight back into French practice.
Exam-Ready
From school quizzes to the AP exam and DELF, we bring targeted drills and mock papers.

HKIS French — Frequently Asked Questions
Does HKIS offer French?
Yes. HKIS follows an American curriculum and offers French as a world language from Middle School (Grade 6 onwards), continuing through High School up to AP French Language and Culture.
Does my child need a French tutor at HKIS?
It depends: students who are coping but want a top AP score come to us for intensive exam work; students who find the pace fast start with the foundations, then rejoin the class pace.
When is the AP French exam?
AP exams take place every May. We plan backwards from the exam date so the speaking and writing components get plenty of rehearsal.
Can my child take DELF while at HKIS?
Yes. DELF is an external certification that runs alongside school. HKIS students typically sit A2, B1 or B2, and we prepare them for the full exam.
Where do lessons take place?
At our Wan Chai centre, a short drive from the Tai Tam campus, or online — families with tight schedules usually choose online.
One-to-one or small group?
Both: one-to-one for targeted work on specific weaknesses, small groups (max. 6 students) for students who learn better with peers.
