French Tutoring for French International School (FIS) Students
French International School students deserve support that truly understands their school's curriculum.
Many of our teachers have already taught students from the French International School. We know the French stream and the International stream inside out — and we help FIS students thrive, from Brevet and Bac to IB and IGCSE French.
We Know the French International School Curriculum
The French International School runs two demanding streams — and we support students in both.
French Stream (Lycée Français)
Following the French national curriculum — from maternelle to Terminale — with the Brevet and Baccalauréat as key milestones.
International Stream (IGCSE & IB)
A bilingual English-French programme leading to IGCSE and the IB Diploma, with French offered across multiple levels.

FIS French — Frequently Asked Questions
Does FIS have a French stream and an International stream?
Yes. The French Stream follows the French national curriculum from maternelle to Terminale, with the Brevet and the Baccalauréat as its milestones. The International Stream is bilingual English-French and leads to IGCSE and the IB Diploma.
What French exams do FIS students take?
It depends on the stream: French Stream students sit the Brevet at the end of 3ème and the Baccalauréat at the end of Terminale; International Stream students sit IGCSE French and then IB French at ab initio, B or A level. Many families add DELF or DALF as an external certification.
When are the Brevet and Baccalauréat exams?
The Brevet is taken at the end of 3ème and the Baccalauréat at the end of Terminale, both in the summer exam session. We plan the year backwards from those dates so the written and oral papers get proper rehearsal.
Can my child take DELF or DALF while at FIS?
Yes — DELF and DALF are external certifications that run alongside school. They give a recognised proof of level that is independent of FIS grades, and we prepare students for the full exam.
My child is in the International Stream — do they still need French support?
Often yes. IGCSE and IB French are assessed very differently from the French national curriculum: the oral component carries a lot of weight and the written tasks are highly structured. Students who are comfortable in class can still lose marks on exam technique.
Where do FIS French lessons take place?
At our Wan Chai centre, a few minutes from the Happy Valley and Jardine's Lookout campuses, or online — families based further east usually choose online.
