Detailed Curriculum
2 sessions per week (90 min each). Flexible — join for as many weeks as you like.
What did you do yesterday? Teens master the passé composé with avoir — learning regular past participles and producing real sentences like J'ai mangé, j'ai regardé, j'ai fait right away. The past tense suddenly feels within reach.
Some verbs play by different rules! Teens discover which verbs (aller, venir, partir…) take être as their auxiliary and master gender/number agreement in past participles — giving their storytelling real precision.
I went, I saw, we did… Teens learn to chain events in the passé composé using time markers (hier, la semaine dernière, d'abord, ensuite) to tell cohesive, natural-sounding stories about things that actually happened.
Stories aren't just about what happened — they need context. Teens learn the imparfait to describe background conditions, states of mind, and recurring habits in the past. The tense that makes narratives come alive.
I'm going to, we're going to… Teens master aller + infinitive to talk about immediate plans, weekend activities, and upcoming projects. Real, instant, everyday French — and it builds confidence fast.
Next year, in the future, one day… Teens learn the futur simple conjugations for regular and key irregular verbs, practising real contexts: weather forecasts, future ambitions, and long-term dreams.
Je pense que, à mon avis, je trouve que… Teens master the core structures for expressing personal opinions in French and practise defending a point of view on topics they actually care about — from music to social media.
Beyond 'I agree' — Teens learn to express nuance using C'est vrai, Je ne suis pas d'accord, Certes… mais, Cependant. A session that takes their French from functional to genuinely sophisticated.
Going to France, living in Japan, coming from Canada… Teens learn country names and their corresponding prepositions (en, au, aux, à) — a grammar rule that looks simple but hides surprising depth and unlocks real travel conversation.
Je suis français(e), elle est japonaise… Teens master nationality adjectives with full gender agreement, plus cultural vocabulary around traditions, languages and identities — practised in a multicultural role-play conversation.
If you could do anything, what would you do? Teens learn the conditional mood (je voudrais, j'aimerais, je serais) to describe their dream life — dream job, dream destination, dream day. The session that makes French feel personal.
If I won the lottery… If I could fly… Teens learn the si + conditional structure for hypothetical scenarios, practising imaginative, creative conversations that push their fluency in the most enjoyable way possible.
Faster, more beautiful, the best, the most interesting… Teens master the full system of comparisons (plus que, moins que, aussi que) and superlatives (le/la plus, le/la moins) — practised in debates and opinion-giving contexts they find genuinely engaging.
Past, present, future — three tenses, one fluid conversation. Teens bring together everything from all seven weeks in a rich, dynamic role-play: telling a story, making plans, sharing opinions, comparing and dreaming. Real French, fully unlocked.
