Tutor's Background

Sarah is a native French speaker from Angers, France, who holds a degree in translation and has dedicated herself to writing, translating, and teaching French for many years. Bilingual since the age of 10, she learned to familiarize herself with the process of language learning at an early age and developed a deep understanding of its challenges. Passionate about French since her school years, she believes that the complexity of a language lies not in the language itself but in the way it is taught.

Her passion for languages has always been deeply personal. In middle school, she struggled with French grammar despite her strong interest in writing and languages. Unsatisfied with the traditional teaching methods at school, she decided to explore language learning on her own—to understand how languages work and why some explanations make sense while others don’t.

These early challenges have shaped her teaching philosophy: she believes that learning a language isn’t inherently difficult—but that it’s the way it is presented that can make it feel complex. That is why Sarah has dedicated herself to studying language pedagogy, focusing on how to make language learning more intuitive, visual, and engaging. Because a language can sometimes feel abstract and hard to grasp, she loves to decompose the language’s logical structure by using visual supports to help students « see » the language…and how it works. For Sarah, languages don’t have to be complex: once you understand how the pieces fit together, everything becomes clearer.
